This is my niece Madison…
She just turned 12 last month and is one of the most excited people there is when it comes to the start of Journey Church…I was so encouraged the other day when she sent me an email about what she thinks Journey Church needs to be ‘all about’…here’s her email:
| When we start our lives – our JOURNEY in this world – no one knows where or what we’ll be but GOD does, ask Him, call on Him, and pray to get those answers (I know what your thinking ‘you just have to pray’) - NO you have to BELEIVE, believe in GOD and believe in yourself and you will know. So come to Journey Church because thats what life is!!!!!!!!

Well…I wanted to take this post and say a BIG ‘Happy Birthday!’ to my man Javan who turns 7 tommorow. WOW! Where did 7 years go by so fast?
It seems like yesterday where Mis and I were youth pastoring in Lake St. Louis and it was time for Javan to be born. It was midnight (May 22) and Missy said ‘It’s time’…We rushed to the hospital and through about 10 hours of labor and a C-Section, out came one of greatest people I’ve ever met.
I love that guy…today his personality shines and his humor attracts nearly everyone that knows him or gets to meet him…and his laugh is literally one of my favorite sounds in the world. It’s such an honor to be a father – words cannot express how much my two boys mean to me…I’m so fortunate for the family I have.
The only sad part is that he keeps getting older!
But I enjoy every minute with him…even though he’s getting older – every time I look into his face I still see that little baby I used to hold in my arms every night…

Happy Birthday bubba!

Family at Big Cedar Lodge - Branson
Well…we just got back from Branson a couple of days ago with our family and just wanted to say – I had NO IDEA that there was this kind of stuff down there! Southern Missouri is actually GORGEOUS and doesn’t get the credit it truly deserves. We stayed at the Big Cedar Lodge owned by Brass Pro Shops which was a luxury resort that through some special connections with family members we were able to stay there. We of course hit the major attractions like Silver Dollar City and stuff – but there’s a place down there called Dogwood Canyon – simply amazing.
Here’s a few shots of our time there – incredible.

A little sand volleyball action with the family

Javan and I on a 6 1/2 mile bike ride through Dogwood Canyon into Arkansas - Loved it!

Classic Missouri scenery

Amazing waterfall - I had to climb behind it and get this picture.
Amazing time with the family.

Here’s a few shots of our time last night as we hosted another T-Minus 10 Prayer Night here in Troy. We had an amazing time with some great people that God has brought to our church.
A major focus last night was – What is my part at Journey Church?
Everyone took an opportunity to write their dreams, gifts, and talents down on a piece of paper and how they would want to use them at Journey – we had some KILLER responses – and I can’t wait to see them put to use when we launch.
WOW! I can’t beleive we’re 3 weeks away from our first service!!!!
I couldn’t be more excited…

Wow…we are just 4 weeks – 5 days away from Journey Church being able to place our feet in the ’starting blocks’ as we will open our 1st service to the public on Sunday June 7th @ Bonfil’s Auditorium in Troy.
It’s CRAZY to see how God has been arranging things in setting this church up. He has provided some amazing stuff that will bless our church incredibly – you’ll have to see it. He has put around us some amazing people that will bless our church incredibly – you’ll have to meet them. He has given me an amazing opening message that will bless our church incredibly – you’ll have to hear it.
As much I like to have a hand in what God does – I’ve learned through this process of ‘beginnings’ to just let Him do His ‘THANG’ – after all – He is God, the creation of the universe is on His resume – I think Journey Church will be in good hands.
